Hillcrest Newsletter From Principal Darrin Johnson
April 2008 After a long winter that seamed to be never ending. Spring has finally arrived. This is a wonderful time of the year. The temperatures are warming up. After a long cold winter the bulb plants are emerging from the ground. There is new growth appearing on the trees. The grass is beginning to become green. This time of year is full of anticipation. I am feeling reinvigorated After a long winter I am not the only one who is feeling reinvigorated. The students and the teachers are happier. The sun is shinning more often and all are able to go outside and enjoy this time of renewal. At this time of year student’s time is divided more often with outside activities. These activities are extremely important to the health of the children. Not all activities need to be organized sporting events. These activities can be a family bike ride, a hike in the mountains, or a quick outdoor game with friends and family. As the days grow longer and the temperatures warm up it is tempting to relax on bedtimes and rush in the morning for breakfast. As the school year comes to an end a quick reminder that children who receive a full nights rest and a good solid breakfast will perform better in school. Their minds will be more focused as they concentrate on their work of finishing the school year strong. By spending time with your children working on the physical wellbeing of your child they will have a sharper mind and body. Their focus in school will be sharper, and the time spent with family will bring all closer together. HOME |
